FAQ on our tools
Are the tools really free and without signup?
Yes. All 5 tools run entirely in your browser — no signup, no email, no cookie banner. Calculations happen locally; nothing is uploaded.
Are my inputs saved or evaluated?
No. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, aggregate page-view stats). Your individual answers stay on your device.
Which tool should I start with?
If you don't yet know your primary exposure, start with the GDPR Checklist (1 minute). If your sector is critical (energy, water, banking, healthcare, transport, digital providers), run the NIS2 Readiness Check first. If you deploy or build AI systems, the EU AI Act Quick Test is your entry point.
Are the tool results legally binding?
No. The tools serve self-assessment and orientation. They do not replace legal advice and are not a compliance certification. For legally binding assessments contact a law firm or a certified data protection officer. The tools are methodologically grounded (BSI standards, supervisory authority guidance, EU regulation texts) but the result is an indication, not a legal opinion.
What is the difference between Tools and Self-Assessments?
The 5 tools on this page give an instant in-browser result (score, recommendation, fine estimate). The 10 Self-Assessments are deeper audits with an individual PDF report (5–15 pages). Tools are faster; Self-Assessments are more detailed.
Need full documentation?
The free tools give you a starting point. The kits give you the audit-ready dossier.
